TRAINING OVERVIEW

T I T L E

The course is entitled: "The Second International Training Course on Information Technology Education Methodology"

P U R P O S E

Purpose of the course is to provide participants from Asian and African countries with an opportunity to share and upgrade relevant techniques, knowledge and teaching methodology in the field of information technology.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the course are to enable participants:

1. To understand the computer architecture,

2. To understand and experience in computer language,

3. To be able to design and develop the database system,

4. To be able to design, analysis, and set up the computer network and

5. To improve their teaching methodology in IT related field.

ORGANIZATION OF THE COURSE

The course is sponsored by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia under the framework of Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC) programme in cooperation with the Government of Japan through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), under the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP). Other sponsorship comes from the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC). The Government of the Republic of Indonesia designates the Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (EEPIS) for the implementing of the course.

DURATION

From August 18th to September 15th , 2003

LANGUAGE

The course is conducted in English.

QUALIFICATION OF APPLICANTS

Applicants for the course should:

1. be nominated by their respective Government in accordance with the procedure mentioned in the following section,

2. be graduated from Polytechnic, Technical College or equivalence (to have minimum fourteen (14) years formal education),

3. have practical experience at least three (3) years in the field of information technology education,

4. be engaged in laboratory works in the field of tertiary computer engineering educational experience in more than 3 years,

5. be under thirty five (35) years of age in principle,

6. have a good spoken and written English,

7. be in good health, both physically and mentally to complete the course. Pregnancy is regarded as a disqualifying condition.

8. not be serving in the military

9. be able to make a simple program
