Director for NAM CSSTC Meets with UNOSSC

Director of NAM CSSTC Meets with United Nations office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) during NAM Summit

Kampala, Uganda – 22 January 2024, In a significant development during the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Director of NAM CSSTC, H.E. Ambassador Diar Nurbintoro, had a productive bilateral meeting with the Director of UNOSSC, Ms. Dima Al-Khatib. The focus of their discussions centered around establishing a new and robust relationship between the two organizations, paving the way for collaborative projects that can contribute to the advancement of South-South Cooperation.

During the meeting, the Director of NAM CSSTC provided a comprehensive overview of the projects that have been successfully undertaken and outlined upcoming initiatives. Emphasizing the commitment to the principles of South-South Cooperation, NAM CSSTC has been actively involved in projects aimed at sustainable development, particularly through capacity-building programs for local communities.

The Director of NAM CSSTC highlighted the organization's significant contributions to South-South Cooperation through its completed and ongoing projects. These initiatives not only address crucial developmental challenges but also focus on empowering local communities through targeted training programs. The emphasis on capacity building underscores NAM CSSTC's dedication to fostering sustainable development in the region.

The Director of UNOSSC expressed keen interest in the initiatives presented by the Director of NAM CSSTC. Encouraging further collaboration, she urged NAM CSSTC to liaise with the United Nations present in Indonesia, particularly the Resident Coordinator. This collaboration is seen as a valuable opportunity for UNOSSC to support and amplify the impact of NAM CSSTC's programs. The ultimate goal is to enhance the prosperity of the global south by working together and leveraging each organization's strengths.



As a gesture of gratitude, the Director of NAM CSSTC presented a token of appreciation to the UNOSSC. Additionally, a detailed report highlighting the outcomes of projects undertaken by NAM CSSTC in 2022 was shared.
